Kinja'd!!!

I just got a call back from Oreilly’s. My background check and driving record came back clean. I go in tomorrow morning for a drug test (which I will pass with flying colors because I dont do drugs), to fill out new hire paperwork and start training. I should start next week. Looks like youre talkin to one of Oreilly Auto Parts newest parts drivers.

I’d be delivering to shops within a 10 mile radius of the store, the funny thing is the Grease Monkey that the guy I bought my truck from manages has an Oreillys contract and is within 10 miles. So I’d be delivering to him. He was a very nice guy so I look forward to that.

CONGRATULATIONS!

It’s a great way to get to know your local mechanics. You can usually figure out who does and doesn’t know what they are doing based on the types of calls they make. (if you take calls - if you are ‘just a driver’ you might see it based on the returns they give you)

A job like that, a drug test makes sense to be sure their driver is fully able to drive and complete his tasks. But non-driving work really has no need for a drug test. If folks are able to complete their work and aren’t high on the job, then who gives a fuck what they do in their own time?

Im not 100% sure they require drug tests for all their employees, But since being a parts driver is usually where everyone starts out. It would make sense that most everyone has taken one.

Ohh drug tests! How common are they in the US? I find them kind of counter productive in my opinion. By not employing drug users, you are forcing them to either go on welfare or find illegal means of making money. IMHO, it harms someone who is trying to recover and seriously creates a whole new issue.

I am in no means a drug user.

I worked for Hertz one summer and had to pass a drug test. I passed but the job sucked so bad.

I agree with all of that, but I dont do drugs so I have no reason to become an activist about it.

I’m an office jockey and the only job I have ever had that did not drug test was teaching middle school. Go figure.

Depends on the drug IMO. Do I want a heroin addict working at bank assuming I’m in HR? Probably not. But weed? Yeah do what you want as long as you aren’t coming to work smacked or getting smacked on break I wouldn’t give a shit.

So basically what I’m saying is just put $5 on it and I’ll bring my Pax Ploom.

Our childhoods were a lie. You would be surprised how many teachers smoke weed.

As a professional “creative” drug tests in my office would be failed unanimously.

Oh I fully agree. That’s more a commentary on the fallacy of modern drug tests. Just fucking remove weed already.

Yeah, I’m not the type of person that would either. I just thought it was interesting how many people in the US have to go through them. I never have. But, I would pass. Unless they’re checking for caffeine ;)

I agree, it sucks that hard stuff like crack and heroin are out of your system within something like 48 hours but harmless bud is in your system for like a month, sometimes longer depending on your weight and height. My job doesn’t test and I hope they keep it that way or I’ll be buying a LOT of cranberry juice.

I knew a black guy in college who had to take a piss test for a new job, but he smoked a lot. So he borrowed a “ Wizzinator ” from a friend. Only problem, the owner of the wizzinator was white, this the wizzinator had a fake white dick. I think he actually ended up getting the job but it was like the funniest thing ever for those few weeks he was freaking out about it.

My friend had a wizzinator too! lol funny stuff. It worked the one time he had to use it. Another friend of mine didn’t want to shell out the money so he filled a clean hand sanitizer bottle with someone else’s urine and tied it to his thigh with a handwarmer packet and it worked.

I’m surprised that Denver (OP) doesn’t smoke seeing as it’s legal in Colorado and they have some of the best stuff out there. I would be in heaven instead of running around trying to find a place to stash it because the cops might think I’m a drug kingpin because I’ve got an eighth.

Just make sure they don’t read oppo. You wouldn’t want them to find out about what you did to that poor fire hydrant or that lady’s front lawn or that trash can.

I’m just yanking your chain...lol sounds like a good gig I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.

Definitely true. You can make a decent career out of it if you get to a manager/district manager or higher level too, but you’ve got to understand the nuts and bolts of the business first...
